He is a strong proponent of alternative dispute resolution and often encourages clients to mediate or arbitrate their grievances. Vijay is a visiting faculty at Hindustan Aeronautics Laboratory (HAL), in Bangalore. He routinely works with multinational corporations and helps them resolve deadlocks over unfulfilled contractual obligations and bring about a conclusion to disputes through negotiations. Vijay has worked with the leading law firms and corporations in the United States, Great Britain, and firms from East and South Africa. Vijay has roots in Chikmagalur and grew up in Hassan, where his father B.R. Krishnamurthy was a leading lawyer and later a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC).
