Advocate Suryank Rao has been practising for the past ten years in Bombay High Court, Sessions Court, Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB), Trade Mark Registry and Copyright Office and Patent Office. He specialised in the field of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and had worked with niche IP law firms in Mumbai. During his tenure with the previous firms, he has advised and worked single-handled on the entire prosecution process with respect to Trademark, Copyright & Design applications. Besides, he has also drafted Cease and Desisted notices, Civil Suits and appeared before the relevant authorities viz. Trade Mark Registry, IPAB, Lower courts when criminal action was filed under Section 103 and 104 of the Trade Mark Act, 1999 and Bombay High Court. Since the time he started practising independently, he continued to practice in the field of IPR and apart from that he has been advising clients on various matters and take up matters with respect to the drafting of Wills, Cheque Bounce cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, matters under Consumer Protection Act and all the necessary legal documentation required by a Start-up/MSME.
